Design Help

I'm going to mention this in the "Contact Me" page I'm adding to the blog, and I know I've mentioned this to people in person, but I want to help you. As my "About Me" page mentions, I actually have a bachelors degree in interior design.  I don't currently practice other than on my own house with the tight budget we have set aside for projects, but I do miss it. I have been asked in the past for design ideas, and more so since the past few blog posts have came out to the public, so I have decided that for in exchange of giving me content to blog about, I will offer some design ideas I think you could implement in your house or room within a given budget.

(Hand-drawn and colored using marker and chalk... school project)

All you have to do is email me at midnightmindness@gmail.com and tell me what you want to try to do. Send a picture of the space to be redesigned, dimensions if you can, styles you like, how much or how little you want to spend, etc... and I will try to give you some ideas. Hopefully ones you might not have thought of yourself or didn't think could work. I have fellow practicing interior designers that I like to bounce ideas around with before I jump into anything, and I believe I can be yours. If I publish it on the blog, I will include any pictures I deem appropriate on the site, but I won't include your real name or address.

(Also hand-drawn using marker and chalk... school project. My "Guest House". Notice the furniture looks strangely like the couch we just bought?)

I hope I can help some of you out there and can have some fun blog posts in return to share for everyone. Best part, if you don't like my idea, it was free advice so you don't have to use it! Where else can you get that kind of service?

(A hand-drawn, in pencil, blue-print)

If you like this idea, want to read other people's design woes, or even think this is a horrible idea... as always, feel free to comment below.

All pictures are old projects I did while working on my degree. Just showing off some mad skills. I probably won't be as detailed when trying to show you what your room could use. Let's face it, I don't have that much time. The kids will steal my markers, anyways.

  1. I didn't know you had a bachelor's in interior design! That's pretty sweet. I will be consulting with you once Frank and I buy a house. :)
